MYSTAR60 CORP.   Contact

MYSTAR60's mission is to provide opportunities for reentering the workforce, with a focus on seniors, through transforming their experience and knowledge into a new reason for living.

MYSTAR60 started in Osaka in 1990, with the slogan "Your age is your jersey number: There is no mandatory retirement age in life." At the time, the retirement age in Japan was 60 years. This slogan caught many journalists by surprise, and it earned a considerable amount of empathy.
We felt it was a loss to society that so many people retired at age 60 despite still having a strong motivation to keep working. There are many diverse reasons for working. These include:

  1. (1) For mental and physical health
  2. (2) A desire to pass on one's own skills and experience to younger generations
  3. (3) A desire to work on a worksharing basis
  4. (4) A desire for income to finance a better lifestyle
  5. (5) A desire to remain involved in society through working

Since its founding as a company, MYSTAR60 has found employment for more than 4000 seniors, chiefly in facilities maintenance work. We are determined to support seniors in building connections with society through work, by putting their experience to further use as a new starting point in their lives.
However, our work has not been an easy task. This particularly was the case following the collapse of Lehman Brothers. Not only MYSTAR60 but other placement agencies too were impacted by the global economic slump.
The placement-agency business had never before experienced such headwinds.

However, we continue striving to achieve solutions for the issue of seniors' reentry to the workforce, an issue that has begun to appear in various countries, through providing a broad range of jobs.
We are confident and determined that we will be able to help in solving the social issues of an aging society.
